Moonling and Amilune make painted books from your photos. Your photos are yours: this page says, in plain words, what we keep, why, for how long, and how to have it deleted.

What we collect today

The book maker is not open yet. Today we keep only what you give us on the waiting list or the "Coming soon to Canada" list: your email address, your language, the country your connection comes from, and whether you asked for news.

To stop abuse, we keep a scrambled code of your network address (never the address itself) for a few days.

If you accept the visit counter, we count pages viewed and buttons used with PostHog (EU). If you decline, visits are only counted anonymously, without cookies. We never record your photos, your emails or anything you type.

Your photos, when the book maker opens

Never sold, never used for ads, never used to train AI, ours or anyone else's.

Photos go to our AI provider only to paint your pages, under terms that forbid training on them and limit retention. Location data is never stored, and no face data is kept: you tell us who is who.

Unfinished projects are deleted 7 days after your last visit, or 30 days if you gave us your email. Ordered books: photos and book files are kept 12 months for reprints and extra copies, then the photos are deleted. You can delete everything at any time with one button.

Who helps us

DigitalOcean hosts the site and the database. PostHog (EU) counts visits, only as described above. Our location lookup uses IP geolocation by DB-IP (db-ip.com), read on our own server. When the book maker opens: our AI provider (Google Gemini) paints the pages, Stripe takes payments, Resend sends emails, and our printers print and ship the books. Each works only on our instructions.

Your choices

Every email has a link to unsubscribe. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, write to contact@shadowlabsai.com and we answer within 30 days.

Anyone shown in a book can ask us to delete it, through "This book is about me" in the footer.
